Operation Homeward Bound

The mission of the USO is to “The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.” There is no better way to do that during the holidays than sending a service member home to their family! Thanks to our generous sponsors at Delta Airlines, USO Yokota was able to truly embody being the force behind the forces, when we surprised SrA Christian Leyson at work with the 374th Civil Engineering Squadron joined by his Commander Lt. Colonel McCleese and his leadership team, 374th Airlift Wing Command Chief CMSgt Yevchek and 374th Airlift Wing Commander Colonel Moss. It was our pleasure to surprise SrA Leyson with this gift after he was nominated by his leadership team as an airman who was truly deserving. Not only was he an excellent role model and hard worker but even though he hadn’t been home to see his family in almost two years, and never during the holidays since joining the Air Force, he always had a smile on his face and was a face that everyone was excited to see every day. The look of joy on the face of SrA Leyson and the support from his coworkers and leadership was amazing to see and it was truly a pleasure for the USO Yokota team to be a part of this honor.
