A Day in Iwakuni's Shoes
USO Iwakuni was quite busy on February 28th, hosting a Family Movie Night and delivering two Operation Birthday Cake requests. The first birthday USO Iwakuni celebrated was Trevor, a Marine stationed in Iwakuni, and shortly after, celebrated Ian’s birthday, a Navy sailor also stationed in Iwakuni. After working hours, USO Iwakuni hosted their second Family Movie Night, showcasing two different family friendly movies, and offered popcorn, with different options for toppings and beverages provided by one of USO’s sponsors, Coca-Cola. Operation Birthday Cake is an opportunity where families from oceans away can send some love and birthday cheer to their loved ones stationed on mainland Japan. USO Staff and volunteers make it possible to celebrate service members birthdays, such as Trevor and Ian. USO Iwakuni was able to help make their day special. USO Japan, in mainland Japan, is one of few locations that offer this unique program. To find out more information, follow the link below.
