Celebrate Earth Day with us at USO Iwakuni!
Earth Day was founded in 1970 as a day of education about environmental issues. There are many ways we can celebrate and contribute to our planet. USO Iwakuni has decided to GROW SOMETHING.
Join us in the center as we make colorful make SEED BOMBS.
What is a SEED BOMB you ask? “A garden seed bomb is compost ball or paper ball that is mixed with seeds. Garden seed bombs can be placed in the garden or into a plant pot with soil. Once the seeds begin to germinate and grow the seed bomb will slowly break apart and the seeds can continue to grow.” (Thanks Google!)
Reds, purples, yellows, greens! We can’t wait to see what beautiful colors your SEED BOMB produces after planting!
We hope to see you soon!
No registration is required.
Choose one of these other cool ways to celebrate Earth Day!
Ride a Bike To School/Work/Run Errands - Great physical exercise and good for the environment.
Make a bird feeder or house. Use items from your handy dandy recycling bin - milk carton, water bottle and/or aluminum cans.
Spread the word about Earth Day by making and decorating Earth Day cards using recycled materials - school homework (that has already been graded of course), old holiday cards or upcycled construction paper. Include an Earth Day Celebration tip!
